3/16" plate for the bumper with 1/4" mounting plates. Gonna run some 1-1/4" or 1-1/2" h.s.s. from the mounting plate to the outside corner of the bumper for a little more support and a couple gussets on the back for additional strength. Don't know about a light bar yet.

Would anybody be able to tell me the rear bumper mount hole dimensions and spacing? If I have time at work tonight I want to drill my plates for the mounts, it'd be great if I don't have to remove the bumper to measure them!

You may want to consider putting 2x4 metal tubing into the frame tubes if you are thinking about making your own bumper. I fabricated mine and found the factory rear bumper mounts to be to flimsy to hold my bumper in place. The reason for it is due to the fact that your mounting surface is a flat piece of sheet metal. Just some food for thought. I used the factory bolt pattern and put tubing inside the frame tubes. I then ran 1/2" bolts up through the frame tubes into the 2x4 tubing. Now it doesn't go anywhere!

I just need to know what the factory bolt pattern is, I'm just making the plates now, I will support later thought the unibody rails.

Got it all welded up and ground smooth. Mounted a couple fogs on the top of it and put a pipe guard around them for protection. A friend of mine has a huge heated shop so I have a place to throw some paint at it. Should look OK once it gets some bedliner.

and after alot of fabrication here's what it looks like now. The build is not done yet, but the main structure of the bumper is. Shes on there strong.

Looks Good Grand,

Here's a semi decent shot of mine. its square stock with 3/16" plate, a 2" reciever and 1/4" mounting brackets with built in steering box renforcement.

I plan on adding Dring mounts, light bar mounting tabs and a small hoop(8" tall by 24" wide).

Thanks! It was on there when I bought it. It was really excited to see it on the jeep when I went to look at it. It is a LUND Moon Visor for the Jeep Cherokee. Im sure there are still some floating around. To me it adds another piece of character to the Jeep.
