Hey man. Looking for some advice from somebody who's already been through the process...
When I removed my rear carpet, I didn't have the patch that you did (luckily!) but I did have a sort of tar like substance (not sticky or anything, but rubbery. looks like the factory painted over it, but it's ugly) in the rear corner. I was wondering if you ran into that and if so, what did you do with it?

PE, do you do photography or carry around a hipster buddy? You get some rad shots of your hillbilly minivan, ha ha
I need to do that ZJ tie rod set up, my front end feels like **** sometimes. US-36 here is like a GD rollercoaster because the state can't figure out how to pave a straight road.

Right, if you remove the rest of your carpet you'll find it all around the seams inside the XJ. It's a rubber caulking of sorts, and it's a big pain in the a$$. I removed some of it, but it made a hell of a mess with the angle grinder. Don't do it that way, whatever you do! I would suggest leaving it in the corners as it does prevent junk from getting in between body panels and whatnot. Some areas it's just plain annoying, like the front floor pans. Those areas, you can remove it with a heat gun and a putty knife, and it comes right off.

Not much to update, been enjoying all the snow we're getting in PA here. Almost 2 feet in some parts!
But, the big update I have now is that I just spent most of my tax refund and ordered this!
http://www.detoursusa.com/xjbumper.php

In my opinion, this is the sexiest, and best designed rear tire carrier bumper I've been able to find. The quarter panel armor built-in was also a big selling point for me. I've ordered it with all the options too--receiver and auxiliary LED reverse lights built-in. Detours told me it'll be about 4 to 5 weeks until delivery...I'm super excited! The bumper will be painted in Rustoleum Hammered to match my front bumper as well.

Well since I dropped most of my money on this bumper, I'm going to rock the 31's for quite some time until I have enough saved up for 33s. The 31s were cheap, and have great tread and will easily last a while until I get the fundage.

Yes, the wildly popular Tailbone system has been suspended for a while. I was considering that a long time ago before it happened--but I wanted to replace the factory thin junk altogether. I can't wait to get it!

Yeah, I like both the backbone and tailbone systems... but now that I have a welder, I'm either gonna build my own stuff or if I get the back/tailbone systems, I'll use them as a foundation to build off of.

Just get the tail bone and build a 3/16 bumper skin for it instead of the stock skin
