Dang. I just now fully realized how much work you're putting into this to get it done right. Kudos.

Build is lookin' great. I'll have you know, we adhere to the Dave Ramsey envelope budget system... I have an envelope labeled C.H.I.O.B.A. as inspired by your build

Ha ha, I gave up on trying to stash away funds for the XJ. It's come down to this...throw every spare penny I have at it. LOL

Time and money, like anything else...haha I've spent probably just as much on tools as I have other things for the XJ (cough welder cough)

Looks like you're making some good progress. Very nice work. I've got my xj on the back burner a little now, hope to be back on it sometime soon. We got over 2' of snow last week and highs around 5degf for a while, so it's not like I'll be playing much with it too soon anyway

Thanks man! I was wondering about your build. Sounds to me like it's time for you to get your *** out in the snow to play!

I'm hoping I can enjoy the snow a bit this yr. My snowmobile doesn't get nearly enough abuse. Got a few other personal things going on, but I took a couple of weeks off over Xmas so I plan to ride and hit the engine swap project as much as I can. Hopefully I'll have some good pics and updates.

Awesome build so far man! Ever thought of doing the cut and fold on the rear quarters I noticed yours was in bad shape like mine keeps from and mud and snow/water getting in there major difference and easy to clean after wheeling!

I have considered it, and those are attractive points to doing that, but it just won't work with my flat flares. I'd have to trim the flares too, and I'm not willing to do that. Plus I've already repaired the rust.

Might as well throw this in here. Upgraded my reverse lights with 7w CREE LEDs I got on eBay.

true I did see that in the build and I don't blame you on that they aren't cheap it would be tough to even consider cutting those those reverse lights are amazing by the way! I converted my wife's grand cherokee to full led in and out she loves it

Yeah! I converted the XJ and my daily driver to all LED interior (still got exterior stuff to do) and I absolutely love it. Great cheap easy mod.
