Aw come on.. bigger is better! Hahah really tho, my rig is on 35s with stock steering and it's pretty sketchy. The next thing I'm buying for it is one ton steering from Serious.

Well, my steering isn't quite stock. I do have the ZJ tie rod on there. Did you at least do that?

I know that more stuff will break, I do worry about that...but I mean really, how much bigger are 35's than 33's anyway? Does it make that much of a difference in the chance of things breaking?

What I'm going to try to do is see if somebody will let me bolt theirs up and see how it sits.

I want you to keep in mind that at 33's I wheel with guys on 42's, 39.5's, 36's and 35's (all running either 44's or 60's). I can go about anywhere they can. There's one rock garden I usually skip when we go out. I can and have made it through, but it takes me so long because I get hung up on the diffs and rear shocks so often, that I skip it to keep everyone happy. If I'm killing time, I'm always game to run it. We're only talking about a 1" difference at the end of the day. I'd stick with 33's, raise the rear mounts for the shocks and shave your 8.25. Just my 2 cents.

Well... I bought it only a couple months ago from a middle aged guy that just doesn't use it anymore. I'm not going to spend any money on steering upgrades until I get Serious'. He was pretty straight forward about it, said the only thing he broke was an axle shaft/u-joint assembly with higher rpms and dumping the clutch.

This thread led me away from a TRE setup. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/jeep-...nk-setups.html

It's a good read and has nice info in it.

Always some good read on Pirate. My buddies were pushing me to read more stuff over there, lol. So, are you running heims for steering? I hear they are not street legal around here.

That's right. Heims aren't street legal here in pa.

I'm still running my ZJ stuff (if sitting on a trailer counts as running, lol). I have the Ruff Stuff 3/4" heim kit sitting in my kitchen and I'll hopefully have that on this weekend. I have no idea what the law is like around here, but we have no inspections where I live, so it doesn't much matter what we do. I guess we're just lucky like that. Plus, my junk has pretty much become a trailer queen. I do a lot of reading on Pirate for my research. They might be dicks, but they're knowledgeable dicks.

Yeah I know. I've been looking for chromos ever since I bought it. Obviously I don't know your wheeling style but unless you see heavy rocks or heavy throttle.. the stock stuff works ok. But that's honestly all I can say is that it works. It's not beefy and I personally hate it

Your Jeep looks just like I'd like mine to look, if I could afford Bushwhackers haha. How do you like the Zone kit? And is it the 3 inch? I've been watching that kit for a while now...

The Zone kit is awesome so far. A bit bouncy, but it's just as I expected. It is the 3" kit with full leafs. Here's two recent wheeling pics.
