There could be a number of things causing the issue. Does it do it all the time or only intermittently?

Could low transmission fluid (auto) cause a knocking sound like a loose bolt from a torque converter? Probably a dumb question...knock occurs slightly at idle, gets a bit louder until 1300 rpm then it goes away....

My AC has never worked in my Jeep since I got it, how well do those diy recharge and reseal AC kits work?

I mean is it worth a try for $30 instead of taking it to a shop?

probably not. A shop will have much better equipment as well as a leak testing system to figure out where the leaks are and to pull a vacuum on it to get any moisture out.

sounds like a loose flexplate bolt - common problem, you need top remove the inspection cover and tighten the bolts up.

I got a leak finder re-charge kit from Autozone for like $25. It has green dye in it so after you fill it and use it a little bit, you take it to Autozone and they have a UV flashlight that they will come out and let you use. The dye will reflect brightly and show where the leak is. I think its better than paying $200 or more for a leak test at a shop. This way you can find which part or parts are leaking and get the replacements and do it your self for a lot less.

the dye sucks IMO. The sniffers they have at shops are WAY more accurate.

And if his system has been empty for a while with a leak, there is almost certainly moisture in the system and it needs to be evacuated and have a vacuum applied to it to remove it anyways before a recharge. I think it's better to spend the money now to get it all done rather than spend the money for something that probably won't work or do a complete job, then have to spend the shop money later anyways.

I guess you're right since its been empty. I've always had luck with the dye, but I've never done it on an empty system, nor have a let a system get empty.

i have access to a good deal on some parts a guy on CL is parting out;
2012 wrangler stock coils, shocks, & control arms.

my 97xj is 4" lift, will the front shocks work for me? i currently have no shocks on the front & she's a bouncer

how bout the front coils? will they fit, and if so, do they provide any lift compared to a stock xj spring?

I maxed my front shocks (JKU Rubi take-offs) with 3.5" up front. Rears were fine with 4".

JK wrangler coils and LCAs will NOT fit a cherokee.

The shocks will fit with modification - but prob won't be long enough for a 4" lift

keep looking

Don't start it. The guy is spamming, and it's against site rules. I already reported it.
