When did it start? Is it only when turning or backing up? I had this same noise before and the track bar was loose where it bolts to the axle.

After I fixed my previous clunk or around then. Which was motor mounts. An ya basically. I can't seem to get the wrench in there. (Didn't take the time to keep it it though)

Could be a bad track bar, my friends xj's track bar is clunking where the rubber boot hooks to the frame mount. They are real pricey to get a new one ready to drop in. If thats the issue.

Might sound stupid but I have seen it many times. Check the brake pad sliding surface. If very worn where they slide they can clunk and ping during turning and backing up.

Visually inspect the pads to see if they are worn. If the pad itself is very thin Its time for new pads. Check to see if the rotors are smooth as well.

Not what I was talking about......
Not the pad. The caliper bracket where the pad slides. They can cut a grove in the bracket causing clunks and pops.

Weird question. I get belt squeak like maybe 1 in every 100 start ups.. only happens if the heat is on, as far as I can tell.. as soon as I turn it off the noise stops. It's kind of embarrassing whenever it happens so I'd like to fix it... I guess it would have to be the alt belt? Still, it seems like if it was the alt belt it would happen if the heat wasn't on...

Likely a combination of humidity/condensation and the increased load on the alternator from the fan. There's only one belt up front. First try tightening it up, if it looks cracked or is missing bits, or that doesn't help, pick up a Goodyear Gatorback. Fantastic belt.
