Weird question. I get belt squeak like maybe 1 in every 100 start ups.. only happens if the heat is on, as far as I can tell.. as soon as I turn it off the noise stops. It's kind of embarrassing whenever it happens so I'd like to fix it... I guess it would have to be the alt belt? Still, it seems like if it was the alt belt it would happen if the heat wasn't on...

Your alt can also be locking up under load randomly. Your blower motor will pull the most amps after startup.

edit: that is what has worked for me. You can pick up a belt tension gauge and look up the specification to make sure its tight enough.

No belt for the compressor? I haven't spent much time under the hood of any cars. Sorry for being dumb! Will do. How tight do I want it to be?

Edit: I really need to refresh threads before I reply..
Guessing salad's right, as both times it's happened have been on rainy days.

Anyone know to disable the PATS on a 2006 F150? I know I know. Off topic. Blah blah blah. Yes or no? It got activated yet he doesn't have the key fob or an alarm.

Try disconnecting the battery, try to turn the lights on to discharge all energy stored in system. Let sit overnight to drain capacitors in ECU. Reconnect battery. Usually it works, if not then you gotta take to dealer. The PATS are integrated into the ECU on a lot of newer cars/trucks so draining the ECU might help. Good luck.

I was trying to fix the passenger door droop today (of about 1/16-1/8 inch), which annoys the crap out of me.
But my two T40 bits were too long (when attached to a ratchet) to get in there (the outside came loose just fine). I need to get all 6 screws loose to properly position the door.
So ...does someone make something like a right-angle T40 wrench ...or something? Is there a special T40 door tool?
