LOL, pretty sure we've all said that at some point. Before you cut your leaf spring, install your brackets and shackles, see how she sits. If all looks well, go with stock springs.

If it's got a weird angle or sits too low, go with lift springs. RE and ProComp spring are pretty reasonable, and you can pull a leaf or run OE shackles if it's too high.

I have a 1995 2 door with the cross member. I bought the jeep with no carpet and am looking to put carpet back in it. Any suggestions on a replacement carpet? I've looked at a few, mainly ACC. They tend to have ** not for 2 door models ** within the description. Has anyone bought one of the ACC replacement carpets and installed?

 

I got a big dent in my hood right at the edge lined up with the windshield, the latch will release but the hood will not open more than like 6 inches. I really dont want to go to a body shop, anyone have a good way of pulling dents out and will it even let the hood open when its pulled.

 

Pulled many a dent with a drain plunger.

I just bought some window seals for my doors from Morris 4 x 4.

There are two of them: One that's the length of the window, and the lower one from the door post to the mirror mount (about 36 in. I think)

The one I ordered was the lower one.

When I contacted them, I was told that's the correct one for my model and year.(even though it's 7 inches shorter)

After 20 emails back and forth, they told me I could return them, but it costs more to return them than they are worth.

I still don't know where to find the correct one.

If you find the correct carpet, please let us know!

 

Would anyone mind taking a look at this video? My rear wheels have some play in them when I pull on them, there's a small thud noise each time and it happens on both wheels when they're jacked up independently.

Are these bad bearings? Something wrong with the differential?

 

Your center pin in the carrier should not allow that to happen. It locks the axles outward to keep your C-clip from falling out. When the pin is removed the C-clips can come out allowing you to remove an axle shaft. I surprised that you aren't complaining of loud noises coming from the diff. Open the cover and investigate.

 

2001 XJ blower motor issue. I replaced the motor resistor last winter.

Yessterday the fan started intermittently cutting out. Today is quit all together. No loss of speeds like last time. Does not come on in high. So I'm thinking the resistor is ok.

The parts stores want $100 for a blower. I'm fine with paying that given it seems to be the general source for most of these blower issues.

My question is, do the switches in the dash tend to fail? There's an 01 that just showed up at the junkyard I know I can grab one from, just wondering if it's worth it. Any suggestions proceeding? I have a meter of anyone has suggestions for testing using the meter. Thanks.

 

And I'll add that I haven't pulled anything apart yet to look around. This is my daily driver and I tote my 1 ye old around in this thing so whenever he decides to sleep, I'll get to pulling it apart.

 

The switches rarely go out. After the resistor pack, the connector itself, fuse, or relay is the next culprit.
