Thank you much! I have been trying for days to have that answered! I did notice one plug hanging from the transmission, do you know what that feeds by chance? Shift light? Neutral indicator for computer?

Thanks!

Yes, the AW4 has a range sensor (called Neutral Safety Switch in the literature and on this site) that informs the PCM and cruise etc what gear to use as well as providing a safety interlock for starting and the switch for the reverse lights. The AX-15 just has one plug on it for the reverse gear. Starting safety is provided by a switch hooked to the clutch pedal.

I don't have '98, but '97 and '99 manuals you can download here and check out the wiring diagrams so you can splice things together as necessary: http://cruiser54.com/?page_id=365

Okay, Awesome! Does the AX-15 plug connect to the main harness or the engine harness?

Thanks again, really helps!

took my blower motor off today in order to swap the squirrel cage onto the new blower i juste received. as expected, it's stuck on there good. i soaked it in pb blaster and threw some atf on there while i had it laying around, but i'm looking for ideas on what to do about this?

i've done most tricks you can find on youtube with no success and i'm all out of ideas.

Can a winch cable come off the top instead of the bottom of the winch?

Oh, sure!
If you want it to push instead of pull
or you want to change the gears, or mount it upside-down

So I get a metal on metal type squeak above 3krpm and when revving, my serpentine belt and idler pulley both have a matching wear mark. Does that mean I need a new idler pulley?

It depends on the winch and is generally not suggested. Most winches have a brake that is intended only to work one direction, also as a mean of strength pulling from the top will put more leverage on the mount as the bolts basically act as a fulcrum. Check the owners manual to see if it won't cause damage to the winch itself then go for it. Most manuals can be found online with a simple search of the part number.

Quick question. Does the 96-98 Grand Cherokee alternator have the same connectors on the back as the 91 XJ? Basically the OBD1 XJs?

Default Brake lights wont work

My brake lights wont work. The tail, turn, and back up lights do work. I checked all fuses under the hood but found nothing. The power outlet in the dash doesn't work either. Please Help!!!
