Ah, I've been there. If it's momentary, you'll see spots for a little while. The arc is actually brighter than looking at the sun. It can cause very serious damage in short time

A six week enrollment in a yoga class will cure it.

AH... my bad man, I thought you were telling us you were actually WELDING without any eye protection.

Yeah, in that link that Cruiser posted, potato slices work really good. I got flash burns when I was just getting the feel of my auto-darkening helmet. I didn't have the settings adjusted to make it dark enough.

You're not going to go blind - just be mindful next time if your holding something for a welder - do it with your eyes closed looking away from the piece if you don't have a welding helmet or goggles on. Albeit, that's still not a 100% safe method, but it's better than looking at an arc.

What you experienced is called arc flash. Definitely not good, but a one time deal, you'll be fine...as stated, you'll see spots in your vision for a short time, and depending on the length of exposure, your eyes may feel like they have sandpaper in them for a bit later on. Whenever welding around others, I always call out "EYEBALLS", to inform those around me I'm about to start welding, and to look away. Just the way I was taught, better to be safe than sorry.

lol... you'd really confuse a marine if he worked with you. You hear eyeballs, the response is "Snap, sir" and look to the DI But that's good practice to be in. No offense, Nardey, but that was kind of a dick move on your friend's part.

A real Richard Cranium move on your buddy's part not to equip you with proper safety equipment and a warning.

Installed a ARES Evolution front bumper today. Now the piece the vacuum ball mounted to is gone.

Anyone with the same or similar bumpers have any thoughts on where I should mount, zip tie, or put the thing?

Thoughts on doing an s10 leaf swap vs a HD shackle relocation and extended shackle install? looking for 4-4.5 inches

I am trying to make some bastard packs for my jeep, so I went to the JY today to find some but they closed before I could yank em out. Bolts were seized in the bushing sleeve. Anyways, on my way out, I saw another S10, late 90s. Somebody had already pulled the axle out and the only thing holding the leafs on we're the front eye bolts. Easy to ****** out! Here's where I'm not sure. These leaf packs only had two leafs and then a overload spring, so a total of 3 leafs. Is this the correct leaf pack to make a bastard pack, it seems that most of the s10s had 4 or 5 leafs but this one only 3. Will this still work, will it make less lift? Or r they just stronger leafs? Thanks
