Question From axle swap- 44

So unfortunately I need to replace the front axle on my 2001 XJ. I want to put in a Dana 44 (high pinion I guess) that's what I was told. I was told a JK or a TJ axle would mount up correctly with out any modifications. Is this correct? I am not sure where to start with trying to locate this and it has been a frustrating few day. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jason

A TJ D44 will, but they only came in Rubicons, and they cost 10x as much as a replacement D30

I need to remove the intake manifold to replace a head gasket and motor mount.
I've heard a cut piece of aluminum soda can works in a pinch. I used a piece from a plastic bottle and it wasn't fun...but it eventually worked.

Edit: you roll it over the fuel line and shove it down in the connector to get the 4 springs to push outward*

Does anyone know where to buy the washer hose that goes in the rear wiper arm? Mine is cracked... the nipple and spray head are fine, it's just the hose.

Removing the hose is free modification used for squirting tailgaters. It sprays about twelve feet. I use plain water dyed yellow, lol.

The yellow part was a joke, just plain water.. NAPA will have that hose by the foot.

That's where I'm not seeing it...Call me blind, deaf and dumb(I should be a hockey ref then...:P) and we can leave it at that... But the way it seems is that the carrier transmits the power to the cross pin. The cross pin is fixed. On a turn the cross pin will initially push both inside gears bevels, which in turn pushes the teeth firmly into the pieces driving the axles. This locks them at the same speed. As you go around the turn the outer wheel will increase in speed rotating that side allowing the bevel to move away from the cross pin, now the internal peice can be pulled in by the springs and the tire can continue rotating forward at a faster rate than the other side. Yes if you floor it and break the inside tire loose everything will rotate the same speed. Am I missing something?

Paperclip trick might work. We used to use it on GM cars in the, I guess it was, the late '80's. If I remember correctly we put it in the 2 outside parts of the connector. You watch the check engine light flash. Lets say the code is 37. So it will flash 3 times break for a bit and then flash 7 times. This will keep on repeating. Sure if you google it you will get better info.

When the Jeep is off,
-turn key to run position (do not engage starter)
-turn key to off
-turn key to run
-turn key to off
-turn key to run and leave on... CEL will flash on left hand VIC display. Count the number of flashes and be sure to notate pauses which indicate a new number. ODBI codes are 2-digit numbers.

Today I found that the front windshield washer on my '99 XJ has bit the dust. (The rear was DOA when I purchased the vehicle.) It was just pushing a trickle of fluid out so I thought maybe the reservoir was empty, but topping it up didn't help. Also the pump is making some pretty dubious noises now.

So it looks like I need both front and rear washer pumps. Some sources list different parts for these and some list the same part for both positions. What's the difference between the front and rear pumps?

Not sure. When mine quit, I just pulled some from the junk yard. Worked fine until my switch quit workin'.

New Anco pumps are only about $10 each at Rockauto. They do list a different number for front (#6723) and rear (#6757). The only obvious difference going by the photos is the rear one doesn't come with the wiring harness and costs slightly more. They also list single part numbers to fit both front and rear in the more expensive Delco and Trico brand pumps. (Confusing!)

I figure if I'm going to go to the trouble of removing the inner fender liner to get in there I'll replace both at the same time.

Hello everyone, new member here. I recently purchased a 2001 Cherokee Sport with 88k miles and the body is in great shape. My problem though is that my speakers are totally shot. I was wondering which speakers would work the best for my year/submodel. I've seen a lot on here about speakers but the discussion is mostly for 90's Cherokees. I read on here somewhere that '00-'01 use slightly different measurements or something like that. Looking for all four speakers, doors and rear. Any feedback is appreciated, thanks!
