I used peal and seal for sound deadening in the doors and floor and hatch. Put insulation above the headliner. You need to drill new mounting holes, but that's not a big deal. Just use self tapping screws to mount the speakers. You'd have to drill mounting holes anyway because stock speakers mount with 2 and aftermarket use 4.
I have my headliner ripped out at the moment and keep on wondering if I should put some sort of sound deadening material up there before I reinstall it.
My front passenger side window worked most of the time, and now not at all. I noticed when I'd hit the switch on the drivers' door, the little green light on the passenger side door would go out. I thought I had outsmarted it and replaced the drivers side master switch last night, but that window still won't roll down! My mechanic looked at the wires in the door at one point and said they looked fine, and that it seemed to be the master switch, but no 😩 Any ideas?

It may be the motor, but it may also be the transmission. The cable goes around a geared spool that the motor drives. if the cable jumps off the spool or the gears jam, the window won't work.
I had ordered the new brake parts needed for rear disc conversion. The parts arrived today and are almost all "Hecho en China." These are supposedly good name brands like Raybestos and Wagner. (I expected this for the rotors. Chinese-made brake hoses don't give me a warm fuzzy feeling though. )
Maybe I'm out of touch but this just doesn't seem right.

I figured it couldn't hurt so I got some foam insulation stuff from lowes and put it up. Definitely a difference, not huge but they all add up.

I thought it was interesting to watch that whole scenario play out.
In the beginning it was "I'm not buying that made thing in china, I'll buy this made in USA".
Didn't take long for "them" to catch on via Imgflip Meme Generator
ETA:
I thought I could dodge that bullet when I replaced the brakes on my 1/2 ton truck. Certainly NAPA "Premium" pads would still be USA. Nope pos made in china garbage and I had to grind the crap out of them so the pads didn't hang up the calipers.

I thought I was dodging that bullet by buying major brands that have been in the brake business forever, but nope. I've had some pretty bad experiences with Chinese-made parts over the years. Stuff that leaks, doesn't fit, falls to pieces or wears out rapidly. (To give the devil his due their brake rotors seem to work OK for the most part, but I would not be surprised to find that they warp easily under heavy use.) I guess we'll see how it goes with this batch.

I thought I had a photo of it online, but it must be on my laptop at home... my brand new "AMERICAN RACING" Baja wheel I bought to replace a bent one I had a few years back. Right on the outside of the box "Made in China". They oughtta take the "American" part right off their name if they're gonna do that crap.
