yes its a 2000 cherokee classic, its a 2.5TD, ofcorse have fuel and the problem is that he doesnt even crank, you turn the key but the starter doesnt make any sound , ofcorse because the engine is blocked and there is something blocking him just dont know what is it , you migth tell me to go to a down road and let the car move on and engage him but i already did that and what happens is the wheels do not spin and stay blocked , if the engine is blocked the wheels will not spin ofcorse ..thankx for your attencion
all this happens whit the tranny desengage , i can easy engage and desengage the tranny , tomorrow i will trie move the vibration dumper to see if i can turn the engine
What ever it is, doesn't look good. What is more telling would be the fluid inside radiator, should be green and clear.
Think it's just rust? I did have to add almost a bottle of coolant but haven't seen any come out...maybe the heater core was empty and rusted and when I went to use it now that it's colder, it flushed some rust into the system? Think it'll be okay to leave or will I have to address it? Depending upon cost and if this lasts through the winter maybe I'll just replace the radiator and anything related.
My coolant looked like that. I flushed it out with some Peak flush, ran a full flush of distilled water, then ran it back to 50/50 green afterwards. It held up fine. I ended up replacing the radiator, wp, and thermostat a year later but just because it was still getting slightly warm.
Welcome to CF and the XJ community. It sounds like you've got a good knowledge base, and it'd be nice to see you stick around.
When I had that problem in my '79 F150 I found a lot of chewed up/dry rotted ducting. I haven't pulled a Cherokee dash, so I don't know if that's relevant, but it may be a possibility.
Thanks for the welcome and the suggestion. I was hoping someone could shed a little light on the Cherokee dash and perhaps someone may have had an issue like this before as well.
mine its AX15, but this is not about the tranny , its the engine , he doesnt crank because he have something blocking him that doesnt let him turn , but i guess i will have to remove lots of things there so i trie see what is the problem , i had hope was something like i valve or other but i guess the engine have always to move free and mine doesnt move
I believe the reason they were asking is that if the motor won't turn over when the jeep is in "P", it is indicative of a bad Neutral Safety Switch which is generally an easier fix than what it seems you have going on right now.

Anyone ever have loose lower control arms even with brand new bushings?Recently installed a brand new 4.5 RC lift with adjustable arms and when I hit the brakes in reverse the control arm clunks back and forth on the frame side. I can't figure it out. Bolt is 100% tight. I can visibly see the axle twisting back and the UCA moving.

Shifting axle while braking in reverse is a sign of worn upper control arm bushings, at least that was the issue with my rig.
When you installed the lower arms, did you keep the adjuster that fits inside the chassis-side bracket?

My upper control arms don't move at all, everything is brand new. It's just lowers that seem to have a ton of play, it's like the bolt is too small diameter or something. My LCA's are 16.5" and UCA's are 15" for a 4.5" lift. Maybe I need to lengthen something?
Yes, the metal sleeve with the adjusting nuts if that's what your talking about.
