Quote: Not 100% but I believe the water pump pushes coolant into the engine. Lower hose is out, upper is in.

Quote: Tons of vehicles have those OE, so I can only guess about what kind of problems these folks complaining about short life are talking about It seems like a no-brainer. You wanna replace a tiny flex pipe or the entire manifold? lol
good point, I've got a welder but not sure if I trust my welding skills on this. Will u bolts work fine?

another reason I'm think ubolts is that I can easily replace flex pipe if it gets worn out.

98 has coil packs, not a distributor.

Quote: How do in know if my check engine light works? When I bought the jeep, the previous owner had cut the O2 sensor wires, I'm guessing because it's bad. Also exhaust is cracked all over. But anyways, wouldn't that make the check engine light come on if he did? My trans also slips at take off, getting a new one soon, but wouldn't that make check engine light come on? Is there a fuse or somthin that he pulled?
gonna bring this back up,,I just ordered a new manifold, 02 sensor, and MAP sensor. But was wondering why my current 02 sensor which is cut doesn't make the check engine light come on. And the bulb does work, when I turn the key first thing it lights up and will the go off after starting it. Also, I don't see any cut wires. Under dash or fuse box. Only wire cut is the 02 sensor wire about 3 inches off the sensor

PS. This is a 93 XJ so it only had the upstream 02 sensor, if that helps at all.

the water pump suck in cool water from the radiator via bottom hose. And at the same time pushing hot water into the radiator via top hose. So while at the same time it's doing that, it's pushing hot water towards heater core as well.

Wait.. Isn't that what I said?!? My original statement was upper is in, lower is out, water pump pushes coolant into system from lower hose, once it's gone thru radiator.

lol u looked at it differently than I did but we meant the same thing. You look at the radiator, I was looking at the water pump. So your "in" is what I call "out"
