Nope. Definitely the mode shift fork spring, it got left out on the SYE install. I had to order new fork pads in the process. All the parts got moved and the spring got lost. I had no idea it existed because it took two weeks to get the pads and I forgot what I did when I took the case apart.

I wish all the tutorials and instructions highlighted just how important that spring is. Maybe New Process could've made a way to retain the spring there. Either way the issue should get resolved.

Thanks.
Well got the case apart after fighting the snap rings and rtv. Only to find out the spring mentioned is there! So what's my problem? The ****ing slider hub is on backwards. Could've fixed it a long time ago without having to track down that spring. I guess it's good I had it if it wasn't in there. Now I have to find an extension to get the front yoke off so I can flip it around.

pretty much my same logic. Plus I have the rattle cans leftover from a previous application. It's no liquid Schwartz but it will get the job done.

I don't know anything about that site. However JB Conversions is one of the best in the business. Might be worth taking a look.

Also I've had good luck with this site on questionable webpages before ordering.

Default Transmission lines

Since I've never had to deal with any trans or cooling related issues yet other than routine maintenance (filter, fluid, t-stat, hoses, etc.), I have to confess ignorance regarding the transmission lines. Does the lower transmission line that appears to exit the radiator have coolant or trans fluid running through it? TIA.

Metal 3/8" line? Transmission fluid. There are two of them, one above the other.
Under it at bottom of radiator is the coolant line, 2.5" diameter rubber.

Thx Steve. There's a little metal elbow that appears to exit the bottom left of the radiator, then ~2" later there is a quick-disconnect type fitting. Then there is ~1.5' of rubber hose then it turns into metal line. This contains trans fluid?

Sorry, I'd post a pic but I'm not in a position to do that at the moment.

No worries, I know exactly what you are referring to.
Yes, that is tranny fluid. If in doubt, keep following it back.
FYI. On the AW4 transmission, the front line is 'out'. Rear line is 'return'.

'preciate it. It's hard to see down in there. I spied a tiny little pinkish colored droplet where the metal line meets the rubber hose now I'm thinking I'm going to have to replace the whole line or can I cut it and just use rubber line all the way from the elbow back to the metal line?
