Ball joints, u joints, spring clamps, shock bolts, caliper....check those too.
I jacked it up and checked the ball joints. The caliper is tight, recently fixed the dug in caliper horns from the pads, not the right terms but you know what I mean. I checked the shocks first, I had a squeak a while back and thats what it was. How do I check the ujoints? They don't have any play when shook. Thanks.
Anyway to check control arm bushings? They seem to pass the grip and shake like crazy test. I have a clunk to the left of the brake pedal on rough bumps and those are in the general area.
I have a question! What the heck is this thing? There was a plastic clip holding down the spring - the clip broke. My ex tried to get it to hold down with epoxy and wire, but it's not working. If I knew what it was called, I could get a new clip. It's so frustrating - the car won't start unless someone holds it down while the key is turned.
They do look original put pass my grab and shake test.
Pretty sure it is one of the control arm bushings on the frame. If there is no test for them, other than shaking and trying to move with a bar. I will just order some as they aren't expensive.

Right next to the IAC
Can't really tell from that picture but my best guess its an intake air sensor or your PCV valve. I could definitely be wrong though, can't follow the lines in your picture. I'll look under my hood and get back to you.
Whatever that is, I don't have one or it's not in that spot. What year is your truck and is it a 4 or 6 cylinder?

Jack one wheel up and turn it, see if you can feel any delay between the wheel moving and the axle shaft moving. I had some clunking from my front randomly when parking/stopping and I removed my front driveshaft and it is now gone. I never saw any play either from the ds.

I know you probably can't see it, but her profile says it's a 1991... but it looks like it's had the 97+ intake swap.... I compared pics of it to mine (1992) and it looks much newer... not to mention clean!
Its the throttle cable on a Renix system. It goes from there, to a bellcrank, to that lever on the throttle body. (I have NO clue who's bright idea it was to design that....)
