Slightly unrelated but i noticed that everyone is very opinionated about oil filter brands. If i were to get a couple oil filters and dissect them and make a short thread on it would that be something you guys would be interested in? I would get, Driveworks(advance basic filter) Regular frams, Purolator Classic, Purolator Pureone, Fram Extra guard, K&N, Mopar, Motorcraft, Mobil 1, AC Delco and Bosch. Or has this been done already?

So, I was messing around with my instrument panel the other day trying to get at a wire. Ended up taking my RPM and speedometer gagues off. Now, my RPM gague reads 2000 when I'm idling. The engine isn't running harder or anything, but it's just annoying seeing the gague about 1500 rpms off. Any quick fixes?

So, I started getting that annoying intermittent airbag light that comes along with the tach and speedo dropping to zero. I read up on it and someone said that there was a recall on the airbag sensor. I called a dealer and they said I had no open recalls on my 2000. I also read that I could pull the dash, clean the contacts, and that would get rid of the problem. So far, when I'm on the highway and it happens, I can simply love-tap the dash and it goes away. So, Does anyone know if it was a recall or service bulletin? If recall, how do I tell if this recall item has been complied with, aside from calling a dealer (only Jeep dealer within a hundred miles and its a small town con-shop)? I don't mind doing the work, but if it was a recall item (which I didn't see in the recall list) I'd rather let them do it.

However there's nothing like having a local thread. If you want to do one though then by all means go for it! Just remember that all them filters aren't cheap lol.
These should help you get started:

(If you hang around diesel boards for a while you'll start to see why Baldwin has a really good rep and fewer people take WIX seriously. Mostly due to WIX's lack of disclosure of their products' specifications, as mentioned in that IH Parts America thread)

This thread is for all those who would like to ask something tech related and don't want to start a new thread or hijack someone elses, and for all those tech related questions you happen to ask in the big off topic threads. Me and some of the older members will answer every kind of question as long as it is TECH and polite.
P.S. for the newbs: stupid questions don't exist, there are only stupid answers. Feel free to ask whatever you want. "What is a Jeep?" is a good question....
EDIT: If your question is very common (eg: lift) please DO A RESEARCH FIRST and if you don't find the answer come back here, 75% of the questions can be answered within a 5/10 min browse using the "SEARCH" button on the black banner menu.
For any lift & tire questions go here first: https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/all...go-here-10579/

I'm new to the forum. I've been trying to get information on the following, but only seem to get the wrong info.
Jeep, Cherokee, 2.8. CDR Limited 05 plate.
Someone has bodged in an after market radio so I'd like to fix. The problem is I need to know the pinout colours and which speakers they relate to. Very grateful if anyone can help. The after market uses the standard modern colours so I just need to match up those from the car.
Cheers
Dale.
