Reason I'm asking is the threads on the arm were chipped so I had to force it in. It'll be hard to turn it once it's under the jeep and I'm on the ground.

I guess you could try... What sort of a condition is the line in? Normally when the nuts seize those tubes get a little crusty.

The metal line looks good, the rubber line was dry and crumbling like a year ago when I took a look at it and the nut was chewed up. I tried get it off and it wont budge. I didnt try heat, but I did PB blast it and everything and no go.

My 98 xj has been throwing a code at me, as well as a CEL. P1698 , no CCD from TCM or something like that. I can clear it, and about 3 or 4 drives it will come back on. I cleaned all the grounds I could find and connectors. But is there something else I could try to solve this before I send it to the shop. I have noticed that while on cruise control, The jeep will randomly start accelerating and slow back down. It does that steadily and eventually it act normal again. Could a speed sensor be the culprit? Once in a while I notice the speedo lag a little. Thanks for now! And sorry for the novel.

I kinda screw myself with having so many issues will the lift to begin with.

-Shackle bolt seized into the metal sleeve.
-Snapped multiple bolts.
-Shocks too short. One even locked halfway and isnt letting the jeep move.
-Couldnt get coils in with spacers.
-Couldnt get lca bolt back in.
-Damaged alignment bracket inside lower control arm mount on frame.

Just a chuster ****.

To top it all off my wife's out of town for 6 days and im left with 2 kids under 6yr old and have to have this complete back together by monday.
You could do that but getting a good flare on that old line might not be easy. Since its a front it won't be that hard to run a new hard line. My 91 has all new hard lines thanks to seized fittings.

Sorry you're having so many problems with the suspension. I've been through them all. I just plane for everything to break now. Makes it much easier when it does and relieving when it doesn't.

Possible TCM fault. You can disconnect the TCM and see if 1698 returns. The TCM is under the dash just to the right of the steering column. You'll have to remove the trm panel and knee blocker from under the steering column to get at it. Small silver box with a white connector.

Additionally, the TCM cold be receiving bad info from the TPS. Check it out if you know how. If suspect, don't use a BWD TPS. They are worthless.

The Diagnostics manual does say the possible causes include a CCD Bus fault. This can be caused by a defective TCM corrupting the CCD Bus.

Wiring harness faults are a possibility. Examine all the wiring harnesses in the engine bay, especially around the transmission dipstick.

Im still having ignition problems. The truck refuses to start, but will crank all day.
I tested the the coil power wire (green and red) with the multimeter while my wife cranked the engine and got a different result every time, with the highest being about 9 volts. What would make the voltage going to the coil low?
I replaced the cps with a mopar one already.
Could it be the pcm? Tag on it says it was replaced in '06....

Whether it works our not pull it out. Mine worked fine when I went to bypass the HC. Soon as I touched it it started leaking. Its easy to redo the lines there.

Another thing i noticed was the fact that i must have touched the wrong hoses yesterday; today i touched the hoses on the firewall side of hcv and the one on the bottom was not hot at all

Quick question. Looking into an H4 conversion with upgraded harness for my XJ. I've found some nice ones I really like. What is the status of DOT approval on these replacements? Is it only the BULB that needs to be DOT approved? Or does the housing also need it? If the housing needs it, any ideas where to look?

Thanks!

Both need approval IIRC. I haven't done it yet but I thought the housings on Amazon etc were either DOT or E-code

Started thinking about selling my rock rails to fund a front bumper. What could i do to fill in the holes drilled into my unibody to keep moisture and crud out if i end up taking them off?
