It sounds like cutting a hole above it in your floor is the easiest method.

don't cut a hole through your ****ing floor....that's the crappiest solution i've ever heard

get a drift punch or even better an air chisel and hammer the captive nut till it breaks loose from the framerail. Then simply thread a new bolt from the top and bolt the shock back up.

I gotta agree with dukie on this. On blast it up a lil and knock that sucker loose. It won't be 1 2 3 but it'll give

Yes, you can. But unless you have toddler size hands, it can be a HUGE PAIN to gut up in there and then hold the nut or bolt in place. Since I have broken these bolts 5 times, the holes need not be huge, just enough to get at things. Then a bit of silicon to stop water and you wont know its been done.

Really???

Make a bolt leader / fishing tool out of mechanics wire, thread the bolt on, pull it through the hole, use a closed end wrench up top to hold it in place.

Took all of about 2 minutes, extremely easy

Did you do this in this exact situation? Just wondering, just find it hard to believe there is enough space in that bracket for it to work?

If you feel like driving to Chicagoland, I'll be replacing some in a couple months.. waiting on my next bonus from work for a nice suspension upgrade/maaaaaybe a minor lift. stock just isn't enough.

I've done the wire thing. Worked very well, no problems. Air hammers are a godsend.

I've got this 92 XJ, it's drivetrain is fantastic, the body is not. Specifically the rockers; it's not that they're bad. I just dont have any! Even the pinch seam is shot. Doors are somehow good, as well as the floor pans. Obviously I can take it to a shop and have them weld in new rockers or boat slides. Outside of that, anything else I can do to stop it from getting any worse and clean it up at home? I'm thinking MAYBE pop rivets and some sheet metal after clean up and POR15?
