XJ Ask the Question Thread
my cherokee will start and run fine till it gets up to operating temperature then it doesn't want to idle if will putter below 500 then die out, there is also a little surging in the low rpm range up till about 1200. i have replaced the iac, tps, fuel injectors, battery, plug wires and distributor cap and button, fuel filter, any ideas what could be causing my problem?
ive also tried cleaning out the throttle body

my '93 Cherokee country would idle fine for about thirty minutes. then shut off, as if by a switch... diagnostic check found MAP(manifold absolute pressure) sensor bad. changed it, stalling went away.. running swell ever since . this sensor mounts on the firewall IFO driver.. it has a vacuum line to the manifold.... I got the ac/Delco sensor at $55.00.... 100,000 mile part.. worth it !!

Ok, not sure if this is an obvious question, but here goes anyways. Why do the different model year grand cherokees have different codes- i.e. WJ, ZJ, WK- but the 2 cherokee models have the same code? Kinda been thinking about that the past couple days lol

This stupid AC! It's so cold and blows so hard. It's the best AC ever. BUT.... When I'm giving it gas and accelerating it sucks up into the dash and won't blow. When I let off the gas it starts blowing again! Anyone know a fix for this? Grrrrr.

Vacuum line comes from the intake manifold, runs along behind the engine, along firewall and right fender, will have a T at the cruise control (if cruise is present it should be hooked up) and run to the reservoir "Jeep Egg" in the bumper.

Define "working properly". Not clogged? Check temp for "in" and "out" hoses. Not leaking? Look for leaks.
These things don't have oil coolers.
You appear to be fishing for answers to problem you don't know how to explain. What's wrong with your Jeep?
