Not on JCRs kit at least from what I'm seeing. I'd still like to do it though if it's worth it

I read this a long time ago on the forum but have having a hard time sifting through everything to find it again, but at what temp should my electric fan be kicking on? I got up to 220 today and it never kicked on.

how important is a brake pedal shift interlock? I have no idea what it is, but i asked Chrysler for my vehicle build info , and they informed me of a recall on it.

Excuse my noob question, but for all the research I've done on oils, which is limited, I've read that switching from conventional oil to synthetic is going to make everything leak. Just got linked to Salad's Rotella T6 thread and I want to take his suggestion of using it in my heep, but will it cause any issues seeing as Ive been using conventional?

synthetic oil causing a leak is an olds wives tale. Most modern day synthetic oils have much better seal conditioners than standard dino oil.

Default Throttle cable loose

'99 with 289*** on it and three small cables that run to the top of the throttle assembly have a good bit of play in them. Is this something that can be tightened, or is it more a matter of replacing them/it. I can give a picture if my description is terrible.

Picture wouldn't hurt. If it's what I'm thinking of, they're throttle, transmission kickdown, and cruise control. Not sure what you mean by play in those.

Anything above the bumper must be covered. They usually let A pillar ones go uncovered and roof lights always need to be covered.

I hate getting into this discussion, because everyone seems passionate about their own opinion. Not everyone can be right.

That said, my understanding of synthetic oils is thus: if you have existing leaks with conventional oil (including small unnoticed ones) they will get worse on a swap to synthetic because the same weight synthetic is "slipperier" than it's conventional counterpart. More slippery in this case means more likely to go through the gaps in the seals. If you don't have any leaks (you probably don't actually own a jeep) you're great because the synthetic is better for the engine than the conventional oil. Just be prepared to fix that leak you've been ignoring or didn't notice.

Now that I've made that statement, let me make another disclaimer. From what I can tell, very few people outside of the community that designs oil truly understand how it works. (meaning the scientists that create it and the engineers that design the engines) Everyone else has their own opinion that may or may not be true.

Let the tearing apart of my post begin!
