Have you tightened all the bolts of the TB mount.

Deff include a pic. Could be the track bar bolt is loose, or the bolt hole itself is rounding out. Both simple fixes. Have someone hop in the driver's seat and turn the wheel back and forth while you observe the bolt.

I don't have a pic of it, but it is an adjustable track bar. Trying not to spend $100+, when all I need is the tie rod/ball joint looking end......RR

Are these fixable issues or am I better off selling it and buying a better one but with more mileage.
The one I said is the size of my fist is as long as my hand and about a finger wide
Okay your description isn't very clear.

The XJ is a "uniframe" construction. By that they mean that the frame is integrated into the body:

"Damage to the unibody" in a real monocoque unibody design like most cars on the road means damage to the actual body, like the floors, rockers, etc. In other words sheet metal. Despite being called a uniframe you can still call it a frame. So is the damage in the body or in the frame?

Body damage is very common and easily fixed. Frame damage is not so easy to fix. You need to find out the full extent of it in order to make a good assessment. Some pictures will help us help you with that.

Although right off the bat I'll say that if you're not going to be doing the repair work yourself then no, it's not worth it. Buy a replacement XJ without the rot.

Thanks I appreciate that. I was debating on whether or not to sell and buy a replacement because I definitely wouldn't do the repairs on the frame
myself. You've helped out the decision.

Default Help on stock bumper mount tire carrier

Will this early 90's stock tire carrier fit a 1998 XJ. I found one on craigslist that has all the mounting brackets but I am unsure if it is a simple bolt and drive operation. And also does this style require that I drill into my rear hatch to mount the latch?

Frame huh? Yeah not worth it. To do it responsibly you have to cut out the floor in the area to see the real extent of the damage, then weld in plate patches and throw in a set of stiffeners to tie the whole thing together. Then put the floor back and in figure out where you left the interior. That's a lot of labor for a shop.

You gave me the idea but the one you sent was too small to be useful...

Well the picture shows it mounted on a 97+ XJ so you tell me.

Yes it can be made to fit but mods are required. I'm sure the seller would be willing to discuss this with a fellow enthusiast that wants to give him money.
