My distributor started doing this, it started knocking at idle and goes away with an rpm increase. Im pretty sure an internal bearing is going bad. I also have a manifold vacuum valve located on my passenger side firewall thats makes a knocking on and off. One of the most common things is the flex plate.

Yeah mine comes from that area

And does high rpms cause them to loosen up quicker

Any body ever tried cleaning up the harness in a Renix ?
Rebuilding my engine and moving all the auxiliary components to a toggle switch board

Want it to look cleaner under the hood.

So im getting 11 mpg fully stock. after lifting and 33s im assuming ill be at like 6 or 7? Is that a good guesstimate? Because honestly that sounds pointless because i couldnt even go do anything with that crappy of mileage. I havent checked my o2 sensors but i just did all new plugs wires and cap. Any ideas?

Ya and i dont know what to do. I bought this partly because my z28 only got 11 mpg but that was a 350 small block v8. I do about 90% city driving though and only around 5 miles at a time since work and college and home are all real close. But still 100 miles is half a tank. Im not sure what to try and do and how to check stuff like o2 sensors.

Change your upstream o2s. How long since you changed air filter. There's alot of factors involved with gas consumption. Even looking at what psi your tires are at

Ill check my chiltons and check my o2s after work in morning. My air filter was brand new when i got the rig about 4 months ago. My tires are maybe a couple pounds low right now.

Could bad O2 sensors alone cause a 7 mpg loss?

Cars are like *****s. Very picky and if they don't get what they want they throw fits. Worse part is they never tell you exactly what they want. A bad map sensor can screw gas up. O2s play a major role. As for how much it'll throw it off, I can't answer that since alot affects gas. What kind of air filter you have. And how many pounds under 32 are you. How much money you willing to put into her for a good tuneup. I believe you said you did plugs and wires. Do 02s next. And also there's a thread somewhere around here about gas mileage . That maybe you can check

Ya i figure its gonna be a PIA to deal with. Um i cant remember what the filter is, orange outline and white insides, kinda general lol. In the stock filter location too. Ill check the air pressure of the tires again to be sure aswell. Well id be willing to spend anywhere from 0 to maybe a couple hundred. It'd save me money in the long run. So ill do O2s also to be sure.

And ya i wish that mpg thread was stickied. Lots of people would find it useful. I found it once a long time ago.
