And this is what they look like. Loosen/remove them first.

So I was on my way to the jy and ironically my jeep just stalled out as I was about to turn left. Out onto a street. It is now cranking over but not turning over. I can hear the fuel pump going but it is still not starting. Any ideas?

Try every other crank-no-start thread on here. Could be CPS, CMP (on OBD2 anyway), ASD relay, wiring battery, fuel pump, etc.

I have a 1988 Cherokee limited. Was running fine then all of a sudden after being parked in the driveway for a day or two it wouldn't start up. So I boosted it and let it run long enough for the battery to hold a charge ( or so I thought) but once I shut it off it wouldn't turn over again. Any suggestions?

If my fuel pump was working I would have fuel at the rail correct? I took that little cap off and pushed on the thin little pin. Only a drop of fuel came out. I know I have a full tank of gas. And I'm in the middle of a random neighborhood right now on my phone... Kinda hard to search.

Is it okay to leave my Jeep up on the stock jack for a few hours while I plasti-dip one of the wheels?

Ah. Yeah that should have 49 psi or so. Does 96 have a fuel pump ballast or were those OBD-I only?

Not a good idea at all. Always use jack stands, and in pairs.

In pairs even if I'm only jacking one wheel? Sigh. I checked the shed and I could only find one 2 ton jack stand...

Can I use a simple air tire pressure thing to check out the pressure on it? And I just got home. Been doing some reading and it says you need some one on the gas to check for fuel pressure?

I'm thinking it is something to do fuel related because it stalled out on me. And I just filled it up today. So I know there is fuel in there.

That's fine. Put it under the axle as the failsafe, and keep the weight on the jack just a hair above the stand.

From what I've heard you shouldn't leave weight on bottle jacks? Because they're hydraulic?

Maybe I'm wrong. You could just put it on the jackstand. A 2 ton stand should have no problem unless it's cracked.

Maybe, don't depend on it working though. The fuel pump only needs to be running to check for pressure. It's turned on as soon as you hit the key.
