You have to take the door panel off to get to the locking mechanism and the switches. It is not that tight just kind of awkward getting to the plastic retaining clips to release all of the metal connecting rods to get the mechanism out.
Roll the window up first before removing the panel. I had to unplug the lock mechanism and release 3 plastic clips then unbolt the lock mechanism to get it out.
If it is working with the power lock, you likely have a rod that came disconnected from the mechanism. You should be able to look with a light after the door panel is removed and see if the metal rod from the key lock is not connected to the lock mechanism.

I had somewhat the same sound not to long ago, mine was a clanking sound only in drive/reverse, turned out to be the torque converter, had it replaced and the sound is gone

Quick question guys, I got new bumpers and need to paint them. Should I use Herculiner or the wally world Rustolem Bedliner? Anyone use either and have any recommendations? Thanks
