I just drained the radiator of trans fluid then blew low pressure air through it. Then never worried about it again. Cut the metal lines right before the bends towards the front of the motor. Flares them. Then plumbed the cooler from there

I guess if you have room it wont matter. Youll just be mounting it to the condenser as opposed to the rad

I don't have something to flare the lines with though my dad might.

Anyway just want some schooling right now.

How does that little thing cool better than the rad? I know its small but it was free, I'll go bigger when I upgrade to an open cooling system.

The rad mixes the engine heat with the trans heat. And vice versa. Typically more cooling surface

Condenser is for AC

So where did your lines come from DJ? And where is yours mounted?

only part of the rad is for the tranny, its a small rad on top of that, and you are getting the heat of the coolant mixed in when you use the rad tranny cooler.

That's because it's not the whole rad, it's just a tiny section of the same assembly.

So by being its own separate unit its more efficient?

that, and like dj said, there is probably more surface area on that cooler than the small part of the radiator that cools the tranny fluid.
