Someone mentioned the door jam... but when I look from the open door, I don't see anything unless I'm missing what everyone is referring to and I can't visualize it.

Yea, I wouldn't worry about the u bolt breaking, cause it will pull through the bumper long before it breaks.

Right now I feel that it will work if he is barely stuck. A large tug with most likely rip it through the bumper. With a large metal plate on the inside of the bumper it will spead the weight out and work pretty good.

When you open the door and look through the jam that's the back o the fender. Keep it clean well cause mid may get jammed up in there rotting it out.
