No, I ran it through the fire wall. Checked the antenna in the back of the radio and all is good. DUNNO

I have a gel battery that is only a few months old. So I am assuming it is not the battery. Has anyone had this problem or heard of this happening?
This is normal. Your heater fan and rear defroster are high amperage items and draw a lot of power when running.

But do they work as fancy dust caps? I found quite a bit of dirt in the tube when I changed my u-joints and I thought this product would be just the thing needed to keep some of that out. Has anyone used this product or similar products that replace the plastic junk that is already on the axle?

Default 2 Door Removable Doors

I didn't want to start a new thread for this. Has anyone made removeable doors for their 2 door? I have read the threads about cutting the hinge, but didn't know if this was recommended with the extra weight and length of the 2 door doors.

Today on an icy road I shifted into 4WD High and went immediately into reverse. I heard a clunk/rattle sound that I've never heard before (T-case chain upset with me?). Is it safe to shift into 4WD and then go straight into reverse?

I am changing the inner seals and u-joints. just wanted to know if these may prevent future inner seal failure by keeping most of the debri out of the axle tube.

Yea my motor came out of my old 93 its a obd 1 motor built to a 4.6 stroker n its going into my 97xj thats obd2. My biggest concern is emissions. Should I swap the head off the 97 onto my obd1 motor and swap all the sensors? Idk what to do bc I dont want any emission problems, I need more help on this one lol

Hi Everyone, looks like a very informative forum!

I have recently purchased my first Jeep. It's a 1994 XJ Cherokee Ltd. 4.0L, 6 Cyl, Petrol.

It's also my first American car too!

Since day one, we had overheating problems, mainly because of a massive water leak! We had to get the vehicle home so used some 'Stop Leak' in the cooling system. Now, I have just replaced a bottom radiator hose, water pump, thermostat and drive belt. I proceeded to flush all the stop leak stuff out and refill with clean water/antifreeze mix.

The temp gauge is sitting around the 100 degree Celsius (212 f) mark. It fluctuates a little bit when the car is accelerating/braking/turning sharply. I figure that the gauge is probably not 100% accurate.

I have done some searching but have only managed to find answers for either earlier or later model Cherokee's...

My question is, is my temperature sitting normal?

Thanks in advance,

Jared

Thats not normal, its running about 10 degrees too hot. It should run at about 88-90 degrees Celsius. The stock gauges aren't dead on but they definitely work okay. Mine runs 90 degrees Celsius anytime I'm driving down the road and would(prior to removing the clutch fan) stay at that temp even sitting still in 32 degree weather(Celsius of course).

Did you backflush the cooling system when you flushed it? It sounds like you may have some build up in your cooling system that is causing it to run a little hot, other than that you've already replaced pretty much everything else that would cause that problem. I'd also suggest cleaning off the exterior of your radiator, they tend to accumulate crap over time that can seriously diminish air-flow and thus cooling capacity.
