XJ Ask the Question Thread
Was going to put new brakes all the way around on my 98 XJ. What is a good reliable brand? I keep reading reviews of different types of pads and I am not sure which is best for the money.

brands don't matter that much, composition does. Just go middle of the road on them.
If your auto parts store has three brands/types - buy the middle one.
I run hawk pads if your store has them. Good power and low dust

Should i put the front of the jeep up on jack stands to install a track bar relocation bracket? Seems like it would make it easier to line everything up.. But i also heard you can do it with the front tires on the ground, and just turn the wheel to line up the holes... What's the best route to go? Thanks guys.

my first cherokee we removed the wheels and let it droop, my current xj I did it with the wheels on and sittin on the ground, had my GF turn the wheel to move the body around and to assist in everything lining up.
even without a helper, you can do it with it sitting on the ground.

Well I've looked all through the lift setup thread where everyone shows their lift and tire size but I can't seem to find someone with a 4.5" lift and 235/75/r15 (or similar size tires). Only reason is I would like to do my lift and then save up a little extra for my tires and have the lift on for a bit before new tires...so if anyone has a pic that would be sweet!! Thanks guys.

Jack up each side of jeep and put jackstands under frame
Remove front tires (maybe) and let front axle droop all the way
drain the oil
remove the oil pan
remove old pump
install new pump
reinstall oil pan (with new gasket)
refill oil
