it was safe. on private owned land with permission. we tried a yota and a wj, (together) still would not budge it. this mud was as thick as peanut butter.

dang man, that sucks. might have ot get a big truck in to pull you out slow. a suburban or 1 ton 4x4 so its got mass to keep the momentum going instead of the weights being equal and being jerked to a halt by the mud.

when i used ot run the mud here in south texas, if we got really stuck and couldn't get out with like sized vehicles, we would call my buddies dad in his big suburban and he would pull us right out. i guess the weight let it grab better and then it would just walk us out.

Otherwise you'll just yank the axle out just like in that vid.

If they have a tow point go ahead and get a running start
Not a lot of mud but I got out of this with the help of a new CanAm Quad and winch using an axle wrap because it's all I could find... he took out all slack and then him and two other "healthy" dudes had to sit on the quad for traction. Bumper and winch on order.

on the installing the hitch thing... like posted above, doable in thick mud that has some substance to it, not doable in watery swampy mud....

but it is a good option.

second option is the axle.

best option is get someone with a winch

how far down is it from a point you guys can hook to? might have to run a long bunch of straps to get out if you can't pull with a smaller vehicle and cannot get a bigger vehicle out. or do the old come-along like someone suggested somewhere else. the come-along will take a while but it won't tear anything off because you can pull it tight and then go down and lift the bac kor front a bit so it pulls it up and out. after a little bit, you should be able to just back out but at least you'll still have that come-along as back up

First of all, the guy is from New Brunswick. There may be some whimpy guys in NB but I think they all moved to Toronto for the club scene. This part of Canada is seriously rugged and has very tough weather and the Canucks that live up there are just as tough. I suspect the OP will come back with a good story about shovels, peanut butter mud, hi-lift jacks, and 2x12's. Video would be cool...set to "The Truck Got Stuck" by Corb Lund & The Hurtin' Albertan's.

BTW...they have mosquitos up there the size pterodachtyls.
