you need to release the suction first...

once you get it up and "out" we used a tree as a "slider" and to keep it up on top of the mud. but he did not have any tow points either. Just cant tug on him you have to gently do it!

just dont use your stock bumper....

they are okay to lift from if you get the jack right on the bumper mount, but thats about it

pull from the axle nice and slow like a winch would, no janking and no jerking

).Edit: Sorry if I sound disbelieving. This kind of stuck is what comes to my mind - but then, I have front/rear tow points.
My first real nasty stuck, years ago, down to the axles.

Or this:

How about installing a hitch in this, where we ALL had to be tugged out of:

Or this?

South Jersey local wheeling at its finest. I hate mud.

Wow.. why would anyone pull hard with it wrapped on the axle?? That was a disaster waiting to happen. In my old mud truck when I yanked people out without tow points I'd have to tighten all of the slack and start off pulling real slow, gradually pulling harder. Otherwise you'll just yank the axle out just like in that vid.
If they have a tow point go ahead and get a running start

Pull on whatever the Hi lift is attached to ... because it must be rock solid.
Seriously, did you think this through? Who (besides you) has ever heard of someone installing a hitch on a vehicle while it's buried in mud? You're laying down where? Looking up where for this installation? Into the mud that you "raised" the Jeep from? Putting the bolts where? Into the mud clogged holes? Getting leverage to torque them how ... while you're wallowing in mud that sucks you in? Seeing how? While mud is dripping into your eyes?

).Dig out the rear, place it on(one holding it up), socket it hand tight, pull. It will hold, you dont need it torqued all the way for it to hold, if your pulling straight its not gonna come ripping off. Had to help multiple people with this. One guy had his hitch mount in the back at rausch creek, two guys dug, one guy then held it in place while someone else bolted it, hooked it to a winch and came out fine. Took about half an hour.

I think that was the greatest suggestion of ALL time!! LMAO!
Mount a hitch in the mud?. If it is a mud pit you will never be able to dig all the mud away from the area you will be working.
My suggestion is to take the sway bar off and pull by that. If it's really soupy you should get right out. I was pulled by my sway bar in calico up a waterfall and it didnt bend or anything. However if it's thick mud i would not suggest to do this.
