Inherited the 99 XJ
I was a Toyota guy. But just inherited a 99 XJ. Now I have vowed to keep it running forever.
Issues I need help on (going to do a search):
Turn signal goes through the motions...but some times just doesn't want to keep blinking. Starts for 1 or 2 blinks, than nothing. Both right and left. But then a few days later it will work perfectly. Do I replace the entire switch or the blinker relay?
Power windows.....drivers door controls all of them well. But each individual door has no control of the window.
Transmission "clunks" into D or into R from P (loose U-joint? - that I haven't been able to find. Or is it the transmission)

Read this about fixing your window problem. Jeep Cherokee Forum - View Single Post - Window-lock out bypass (solves the issues of window switches not working)
The clunking could be your rear pinion bearings. Put it in neutral and see how much the drive-shaft moves at the rear axle housing when you try to rotate it back and forth. It should'nt have very much play at all.

And...
Try wiggling the hazard switch while the blinker is on. IF you aggressively work the hazard switch back and forth a few times it'll most likely take care of the issue.
Probably wouldn't hurt to do a coolant system flush on the thing...

Thanks Ol'Blue!
lilredxj99 - I will try messing with the hazard switch while the turn signal switch is in the right or left position. Funny thing is...the hazards work all the time with the signal switch in all 3 positions.

Oh....and yes, the A/C system needs a full professional cleaning.
It goes in this weekend for a full physical. I plan on putting all synthetics in it....EVERYWHERE I can. Than I wiiikm, yhujik, moikjmokijkmjn (sorry, clam chowder on the keyboard) Than I will dig into the turn signal and windows issues. I will check the driveline before telling the Stealership that I hear a "Clunk." That could get expensive. Oh....and I will buy a FSM from them too.

The hazards override the turn signals... t/s left move hazard switch 2 or 3 times... move to t/s to the right and do it 2 or 3 times... then center it and make physically make sure the hazard switch is off.... then try t/s by themselves...
I'm talking about flushing the radiator...
