Hello from Grand Rapids MI.
Hey guys, just been on the forums for the last few hours and i decided to join! I am moving to MI this weekend and I am getting my 91 Cherokee tomorrow!! I know nothing about jeeps but I am learning a lot from the forums and im very excited to get mine tomorrow.
I will get some pics up and once i get settled in MI i wanna have fun and mudding or something so ill deff be needing your help so thanks in advance!

Hey guys i have a quick question. I am getting my jeep in NYC and then driving it MI. I will have insurance on it but do i need to get temp plates? and how do i get temp plates while i am still in NYC? please any help is appreciated.

I think you will be fine with the plates that are on the XJ and documentation showing you just purchased the vehicle (IE notarized title).
If there are No plates on the XJ then yes you might need temp plates.
If there are No plates on the XJ then yes you might need temp plates.

The previous owner will take her plates off before i get the car. I already have insurance ready to go pretty much. And I will be calling SOS office exactly at 9am to see if they can fax? me temp plates or something.
One last thing, once i get the jeep today what are some key things i can do to drive it 900 miles? The jeep is good condition from what i am being told, also it passed inspection just recently. oh it also has 130k miles on it. Thanks for the help fellas.
trs80 ann arbor isnt very far from where i am going so you might be seeing me in the near future!

Maybe a simple tune up if you have time. Change the oil and filter. Maybe the fuel filter. Put some fuel system cleaner in. That should be enough for the time being.
