I have always liked the look of this steering wheel. Does anyone know if it would fit my 2000 XJ?

 

Physically it should fit. Check steering wheel adapters to know for sure. I put an older wheel on my 97 that had an airbag 10 years ago.

 

Should be plug n pray. Don't kill yourself removing the air bag wheel.

 

If its a daily driver i wouldn't do it,Its illegal to remove a air bag can get you a ticket or your jeep impounded if the cop wants to be a jerk.If you wreck with out one and your insurance finds out you can get stuck paying for it your self.

 

That's dumb, my XJ has been in one wreck and my airbag didn't deploy... It's illegal to drive with shoes off, along with several other laws that make no sense. I'm a firm believer In seat belts but not airbags. I highly doubt a cop would say anything, just like all the slammed cars that run aftermarket steering wheels with no airbags. Or my car that sends sparks behind me everytime I hit a "bump" in the road; technically illegal but no cop will pull you over just for that. They'd have to pull you over for a completely non related issue first

 

At least get a nice padded one from a Laredo or Limited.......

Early column is GM and airbag column is Chrysler's design.

 

Its not illegal here in Texas to remove the airbag in the steering wheel.

 

I was in the junk yard & tried to fit a old wheel on a 98 XJ & it would not go on. Splines were different. I like the look of the older wheels too.

Just curious how a cop would know if your vehicle came with a airbag or not. Either way, there are some stupid laws.
