I have no idea... Help!
Okay so today it rained a bit and I was driving to autozone and i go to stop at a four way intersection and i start pressing the break and i hear a loud clunk and the whole front end of the xj stiffened up i couldnt turn my steering wheel or anything.. My brakes wouldnt work to help slow down?
Thankfully I stopped but after I stopped and began driving again my brakes worked properly again and this has happened once before actually earlier this morning and I have no idea what it could be but afterwards it goes back to normal??? But it keeps coming back

Sounds like a caliper is locking up. Get it checked immediately.

There are two bolts that hold the caliper on the steering knuckle. These bolts are supposed to be greased so the caliper slides in and out. The steering knuckle has lands that the caliper slides on. These lands are to be greased as well.
There's some great grease on the market just for this purpose.
Remove the bolts one at a time, grease the grip on the bolt (not the threads), and reinstall them. Apply some grease on the knuckle lands.
See if it helps.
