What axle is it? If it's a Dana 35 I wouldn't waste money on it, if it's a Chrysler 8.25 then a Detroit locker is good if you want a full case locker and not a drop in like a Spartan, Aussie, or Lock right.

it is a dana 35 and im away from home so im keeping the same rearend housing because i dont want the added expense of lining up and welding long travel arm brackets onto new rearend. So for a dana 35 3.73 gears what brands are good spicer or what should i shop for.

Dana, Yukon, USA Standard, and Revolution are all good gears. Also are you sure it's a Dana 35? Most v8s Came with the Dana 44a rear. You could swap one of those in, and It would be cheaper.

Sounds like it is a Dana 35 then, it is odd that they would put a Dana 35 behind a V8, that isn't a good combination as you found out.

Very normal. That's the rearend that has the disc brakes we use on xJs.

The V8 ZJs I have seen had the Dana 44a not the Dana 35.

Well, every ZJ I've parted out, both six and eight , had 35s. The v8s had a full time transfer case though. You thinking wJ?

Maybe the earlier years have the Dana 35, I have seen the Dana 44a in the 97 and 98 model V8 ZJs.
