I had a flowmaster series 40 installed on my rig today. It sounds 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 x's better that the cheap glass pack thats been on it for a year. Well worth the money. It not only sounds better but i am sure it is breathing better too. I did some other work to the exhaust that was surely clogged as well. Sweet and meaty.

Put the hangers back on. That clamp at the cat isn't really doing anything anyway now that it's so old.

Ok so right now i have my muffler and tail pipe off my jeep, so my exhaust consists of stock manifold straight out the cat. The pipe out of the cat and the pipe for my new FM 44 is 2 1/4 but when i put on my new clamp it doesnt dstay tight. Can i go to autozone and get a coupler for the two or how do i get the 2 to stay tight against each other wiht out welding?

Yeah they do, any flowmaster muffler can be used on any cherokee. Are you talking about the kit or just the muffler?

Did you get 2.25 clamp? You need to tighten it down until it dents.

What I have noticed is that when using a clamp it helps to slit the pipe in two places one on each side if the pipe, helps the clamp hold it better

Yeah i got the 2.25 clamp, is it really just a matter of me tightening it down that far? I've got a breaker bar to do it or an impact but i didnt want to force it since it had some play.

Like use a hack saw and cut across the pipe (give it 2 slits across from each other) on the muffler and then tighten it down with the clamp?

Damn. I didn't need a breaker bar. Just a little wrench.
Might try the slit idea. It will also help you get it off later on if you need to.
