That would depend on what mufflers ou use. But that's true with any setup.

We don't have a v8 so it starts as one pipe and would likely have just one muffler, so having duel pipes would only share the exhaust coming from the one pipe

Ok heres something. I've been reading old threads on spin tech. A few people complain about them being too loud. Come on here. If you don't like it loud pick the 3000 and I think they have a quieter one. Also someone said theirs rattled after a while. I've had mine on my mustang for 8 years and it sounds like it did when it was new. Bet their cat came apart. Anyhow Mr. White.... which one did you choose again and what do you think

So local shop has fm 40's. Not 10's. How much difference in sound is there? I dont want it to be so loud my kids cant ride in it, but want it loud. Will the 40 do the trick?

40 would be a bit more quite, but the 10 is plenty fine for kids...I have a 2 year old...but mines also ran all the way out the back so not much in cab noise...can hardly hear it at low rpm, but even at rev its not insanely loud in the cab...don't get me wrong its loud...but reasonably loud.

Assuming your mufflers are the same 1muffler vs 2mufflers, having only 1 is going to be louder.
