Actually the 10's are the knock offs. The others were around for almost 2 years before Flowmaster decided to make them.
The difference is Flowmaster used a little bit smaller V inside the muffler and the cheaper ones are not stainless.
They are at the bottom of the page.

Simple question, I want a flowmaster super 40 for my XJ. They do make the necessary muffler with the 2.25 center in/2.25 offset out, but what all would I need to install it? would I need an extension? How long? I am looking to just clamp it on btw.
One other thing, I've checked advance auto and flowmaster's website and they both recommend the super 44. what is the major sound difference between the super 44 and the super 40? From what I've hear on Youtube vids the 40 sounds deeper and louder, but you can't always trust the audio quality on those videos

Thats a cat? Seems so tiny...I think it'll sound like a catless Xj seeing as how the thing is so small lol.
I think you paid way to much for a Random Tech converter.. Just my thoughts though
I have a 93 XJ with a 4.0 and 5 speed. I had an exhaust leak in the pipe between the cat and muffler. A few years back, I tried to patch it, but recently, the pipe has now broken all the way through so all the exhaust comes straight out of the cat. I like the way it sounds now, but I can smell the exhaust when I'm idling at a red light. I'm not sure what to do. I'm tempted to redo the entire exhaust from the headers on back, but I'm also cheap and thinking I can somehow just put a pipe on there to hook the original muffler back up. I can't figure out what to do. How do I tell if I need a new cat converter also? I'm also contemplating a flowmaster 40, 10, or the HP-2. I'd like to keep the sound but get the exhaust fumes out of the cabin!!
Also, I live in Knoxville, TN, so no state inspections or anything like that. Any shops you can recommend to help fix this?

Has anyone put a Cherry Bomb Extreme on their rig? I was thinking doing a dual exhaust system using this one here:

Yea, I have a little 8-inch CB glass pack at the moment but I really want to do a dual exhaust setup eventually. I'm not so worried about droning. My 18 month old daughter likes it cause she falls asleep 10 minute into a drive. Should I do turndowns on both pipes are run it straight out of the back?
