First time posting, but I want a deep and crisp exhaust system/combo for my 4.0 Cherokee Sport 2001. Don't want it too loud and too high pitched and I'm overall not TOO sure! Heard Flowmaster super 40 with magnaflow has yielded good results.

Any ideas, suggestions welcome, I just want her to sound good thanks! and plus I don't want to have to search through 200 pages to see what other people have said =P

Welcome to the forum! Flowmaster 40s are pretty typical, while Thrush Welded mufflers are almost the same at half the price. Magnaflow makes a nice muffler too. If you want to be on the quieter side get a FM50, louder than stock but still a comfortable ride. I have the thrush and it drones badly at 30mph but at highway speeds it's barely audible over my stereo.

For magnaflows, the bigger the body the quieter they are.

THANKS! Hmmmm, I don't want it too quiet or too loud, but noticeable and mean. But one thing for sure is I want a deeper sound rather then louder, flowmaster super 40-44 are deeper right? I'm also looking for good header as well, 110% full system, less then $1,000 budget-wise. Been working on cars for YEARS but never been TOO familiar enough with exhaust.

I saw a cat back magnaflow exhaust with 40-44 flowmaster muffler and sounds pretty clean even at high speeds. Im about to drive from Michigan to Florida in a month so I want it to be bearable on the highway. I listen to metal pretty damn loud so I guess it's not a HUGE issue lol.

So basically looking for good header, full system plus good muffler. Haven't heard much about thrush and only heard positives about flows and magnas. The more I think about it, the more I want it to be noticeable and mean, but since it's a 6 I know it wont be an 8 caliber muscle car sound, but you get my drift =P

Ok so I'm on my cell and don't have time to burn through all 789098 pages. I have a new header installed, the one poted above and love it.....but I wouldn't mind replacing everything else including the catg and downpipe. I don't want it loud, just a slight rumble is fine but pretty much every pipe is rotted so it all needs to be redone. Appreciate the help in advance

Have the pipe redone at a shop. The prices are usually reasonable, and the system is custom made to your needs.

Hello my question is about snorkels. I understand they relocate your air intake and it helps with cleaner water and mud free air but my question is just because I have a snorkel does that mean I can allow water to get up to my hood? Also I don't really know how to use this site so maybe someone could message me the answer so I can ensure to get a reply? Thanks!

Ok, more questions, it only makes sense to go to performance-curve. ive seen vids on YouTube for the flowmaster 40 the 44 and the magnaflow.... to me the flowmaster 44 seems to be the "quietest" and provide a deeper tone. is that a correct assumption or is it the vid quality that makes it sound the best?

Video quality magnaflow is more refined and smoother. Were fm is more hollow and tinny sounding

Also I've noticed the smaller diameter Magnaflows (I.E. 2.25") sound better than the larger diameter ones (2.5") on the 4.0

Yes, this.

I'm running a 2.25 system with a Thunderbolt cat and 18" Magnaflow muffler... I love the sound. It seems like a picked up some mpg/hp too, with the high flow system.

Also the theory of back pressure.. since my 4.0 is stock, the 2.25 will retain some needed back pressure.

I love the fact it is not loud, but sounds just right.
