all muffler and exhaust questions go here!!!!!!
i agree with you that there wold be a power gain, 4l, 5l, 2.5l doesnt matter. i just think that the data seems inaccurate to our engines, and that we cant judge performance gains on a different engine. but i could be completely wrong, and if i do so that would be great because i love learning new stuff. on another note would you reccommend borla over other brands based on the gains you have seen? im going exhaust shopping
I have Borla on 2 of my 3 vehicles. The 3rd I have Mangflow. I like Magnaflow sound on a v8 I do. I went with a 23" muffler. So, its quiet on highway, but throtty in town. Other 2 I have Borla. Including Jeep. Both vehicles I wanted some extra power. I think I got it.
On the jeep, the power gain I feel. Is it from the borla, or the down pipe and no more dent at top? I don't know. Is it from the whole setup now being 2.5" including tail pipe? Not sure. Is it the hi flow cat? Not sure. But, I do feel the difference with my new setup.
My other vehicle, I did the same. Replaced whole thing and included a Borla muffler. I also felt a performance gain.

I've got a 4"x18" tip on mine and it sounds like a fricken cummins when it first starts up. After it warms up for a while though it purrs. It may not sound like a V8, but it's not far off. People ask if I have the 318 all the time. It's got a great sound and I get a lot of compliments on it. I got a little carried away with this lol, flowmaster 50s are just a bump up from stock.

Last walker muffler I had, broke inside and rattled on my grand cherokee back 7 years ago. I'd go with Dynomax turbo muffler. Better quality. Quiet.
The Cherry bomb muffler is loud. The FM 50 is quieter. Dynomax is quieter than FM 50. I've had them all.
