It will make it slightly deeper

problem. my exhaust (thanks to the previous owner) has seen its better days. it has been cut and re-welded many times right after the cat. i want to redo the exhaust from the cat back but the i have almost no more room. the o2 sensor is right behind the cat and the welds almost touch it. solutions? or new cat, muffler, and all?? stock cat btw. don't wanna dump to much $ into it...
