yeah I want a rough country lift and I am contemplating on which 3" lift to get...I am going to be runing 30 x 9.5 x15 tires I think...and I can buy either 3" lift that rough country offers..but if i do not need the lower control arm or the drop brackets i would love to save another $100... I go hunting alot and i like to go mudding so trails and mud is what i would be driving through.... sorry for not putting the previous info(dumb of me!!!)

the biggest thing you have to watch out for with aal's is that they are stonger than you stock ;leaf pack. when the leaf springs are saggin the aal's will rearch them to a degree, and you can run ito breakage in the pack. they are good if you want to lift it but dont have the money to invest in a new pack right away. but if you do go with aal you should start get a ne pack in the future. most cheaper kits come with the aal's regardless, the packs are extra, they are the same price wheather you get em with the lift kit or buy them after.

Typically newer XJ's say 97 and newer are more likely to need it. Will yours need one, don't know. You won't know till you install the lift and test drive it. It's possible you won't need it. Every jeep is different so it's hard to say.

Default it's safe to say i have no idea what im doing

hey everyone, first off i wanna say this is a great thread and im learning a ton from it. I just recently got into the offroad scene by buying a white 93 xj 2 door. Im not new to the customizing scene by any means my last truck being a "lowrider" dropped 5 inches front and back yadda yadda, Anyways i sold it to get into this, ive read a ton about lifts and what not and had a ton of help from people, i recently ordered rusty's 4.5 spring pac kit with 1 inch coil spacers, and there cutout flares. being new to this i have a few questions that maybe some of you veterans can help with, slip yoke eliminators, do i need one? and i found a helluva deal on a set of 34/10.5 tsl swampers, are these entirely too big for my lift set up?. i plan on this being daily driver with the capibilities to do what i want offroad. I live in northern mass, so theres mud rocks trees and various other things in the woods. which require a fair amount of flexing, any help would be great, thanks in advance guys

Sorry this may be another dumb question....but it also varies from jeep to jeep but will i see a significant difference in mpg when i put on 3" of lift and either 30" tires or 31" tires.....i get like 18mpg to 20 mpg...but that is when i drive it nice....haha...i expect to see a difference..but just curious in what difference u guys have witnessed with your jeeps!?

you're gonna want to regear to 3.56 or 4.88s if you go with the 34s and if you have an auto. not sure about gears for manual.

some good work here im a newbie to jeep stuff, im after a small lift for a little more clearance on a stock jeep with maybe a small increase in tyre profile when they need replacing, nothing too mad as i like the road maners and its a daily. 2 inch seems to be the norm but i just want to clarify that no other mods are needed and i shouldnt run into any problems with the spacer and shakle kits avaliable - running stock shocks, will the shocks be ok ? thanks for the input.
