Default 10X15 rims

will 10X15 rims off an 87 Wrangler fit on 88 XJ? What size tires could I get away with having only 3" of lift?

I've got a 96 xj. I will probably only do 2 inches max of lift. I want to keep it rather stock. I'm currently running 235 75 15 tires. I've notice in my research that they do a 255 70 15 or a 265 70 15

Is anyone running these? How big of tire is it safe to run stock or a couple of inches of lift?

Thanks

31's are about the biggest with a 3" if you don't want rubbing or anything...

I'd go with 30's w/ a 2".

I ran 30's on a 2" lift with no rubbing and everything was stock, well other then a rear shackle and front coil spacer.

Default 33" TIRES

On my jeep i am running a 4.5 lift with a 3/4 shackle in the back , along with 1 inch spring spacers. I am running stock bump stops. Can i can run 33"??? It is my dd and i also take it mudding and trail riding. I am due for tires soon.

Default Question about what lift to get?????????

I am fairly new to lifts and I do not know alot about them. But I am just wondering if if should get a basic 3" lift with jus coils, shocks, and add a leafs, or should i spend the extra $100 and get the kit with lower control arms and sway bar drop brackets....My xj is completely stock at the moment.....I would appreciate the help!!!! also the kit with the control arms and drop brackets offer a better shock?

^ Like 76anthony said, if you let us know how you plan to use your XJ, and what tire size you plan to run, as well as your price range we can certainly reccommend a whole slough of different choices. My usual suggestion for anyone on a smaller budget would be to visit this site:

http://roughcountry.com/

And select the kit that best fits your budget/needs. Very good quality stuff.

Default Add a Leaf work with Saggy Springs

I've been looking at lift kits and it seems that most of the cheaper ones only come with add a leaf's.

I'm concerned that while the front 3" springs will raise the front 3" the add a leaf in the same kit would only raise the rear 1-2 inches because the stock springs that are on there now are nearly flat they are so saggy.

Would it be better to get a kit that has complete replacement leaf springs?

After all the reading ive done, i believe the consensus is that those AAL's just dont handle up or even last with a good leaf spring set. But that is just from what ive read. Maybe you can have your's re-arched? Good luck.

Hrm...I figured as much. I guess you get what you pay for. I didn't know you could re-arch them, although I'm not sure if I would want to go that route anyway because of the bad condition they are in.

I'd just go to new leaf packs. Putting that extra money in is usually worth it, take care of the problem and you wont have to worry about it in the future.

add a leaf kits are only really any use when you want to do an axle flip in the back... I would definitely spend the extra on a spring pack
