This function prevents the vehicle's wheels from stopping forcibly during braking. ABS relieves pressure in the braking system in intermittent mode, ensuring that the wheel locks and unlocks several times per second. If the ABS signal lights up while driving, do not panic and do not stop suddenly - in most cases it is safe to drive further

In EVERY case it's safe to drive further. The system is designed to default to the way brakes used to work. You know, when drivers were required to think?

I agree rear disc arent much of an upgrade but they do hold the tire on the jeep when the axle breaks.

You can defeat ABS easily if you slam the pedal hard enough. The brakes can still lock up and send you into a ditch, or the vehicle ahead. I dont have ABS on anything. Never needed it. When the weather gets bad, such as snow and even rain, i slow down and keep my distance from vehicles ahead because i know braking will be reduced in those conditions. Same with turns.
Thats not to say ABS should be avoided. It can help, but one must still drive responsibly. Use common sense. Dont follow too closely or drive too fast and you should be ok.
