my jeep i just got has a hum in the rear, the rear in the jeep now has ABS, i just picked up another 8 1/4 rear without abs, question is, are the rears the same? can i use the axles from the ABS rear and put them and the backing plates in the non ABS rear?, it looks a little different, but i wanna know before i pull this all apart, any help would be great thx Dan

 

just looking at this, im guessing i might have a dana 35 cuz it has ABS

Note: Chrysler 8.25 was not used on XJs with ABS brakes. If you have ABS, you have the Dana 35. Without ABS you could have either axle. All 8.25 axles have c-clips.

 

just do away with the abs or get a turdy5

 

which one is stronger? if i dont hook up the ABS will the light on the dash come on?

 

Pull the ABs relay and the CHry 8 1/4 is stronger
