So I'm preparing myself for the lift in a few weeks, and besides the PB blaster, what else can I get? I'm thinking of buying new mounts for the upper rear shock mounts. Smart choice?

Would these work? - http://www.rustysoffroad.com/jeep-su...ator-rear.html

Or will I need something with a bracket? Like this - http://www.ebay.com/itm/JEEP-CHEROKE...-/200809653095

So my buddy recommended these: http://www.teraflex.biz/shock-bar-pi...ear-upper.html

Is that all I need to do the bar pin eliminator? Also, the previous owner installed aftermarket arms, shocks, leafs, coils, etc. I plan on PB blasting everything once a day until I lift it. How much trouble do you think it'll be? I don't think the lift has been on there for very long.

Bpe's are nice but not required...as long as you blast everything and have a breaker bar you'll be golden

That's what I figured, but a lot of people were saying the rear upper shock mounts are a PITA, and often break. Would this be helpful just to have just in case?

Well if your rear upper shock bolts break you still have to fix them (its easy and there are write ups on this) before you could install the BPE's. Its more for not having to mess with the bolts in the future if you needed to replace the shock again. Looks like Karnage offroad one's use different mounting points so those wold actually help if you want to spend money on something like this.

Ah, good to know! I'll look around for that write up. How prone are they to breaking? Like I mentioned, the PO put aftermarket shocks on, and my ride isn't horrible, so they can't be that old. I'm just going to hit every mounting area as much as I can with the penetrating spray and hope for the best lol. I have a buddy who has a 7'' lift who wants to help, so at least someone will know what they're doing lol.

Cheers, guys.

Personally, I used three cans of PB Blaster when I installed my lift, and it still wasn't enough. The leaf spring bolts snapped in half, and I had to drill them out. Start spraying at least a week in advance, twice a day.

I have at least 2 weeks before I lift it, at least. I'm buying new ubolts for the leafs. Where can I find the bolts for mine? Or does it vary on what I have? I have a bastard pack currently, not sure what it's off of..

Its just based on the diameter of your axle tube...then the length.

Ok, I'll see if I can figure it out. I believe I have an 8.25, which I found out after posting this: https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/35s...3/#post1270622 I'm also on stock shackles.

So I'm buying hopefully my last lift component tomorrow. The hack n tap. I want to know if that's all I'll need for now. I have the coils, leafs, adj. track bar, shocks, and soon to be hack n tap. I'm pretty sure my current control arms will fit (LCA is about 17'', UCA is around 15-16''), ride quality will be sucky, but it'll hold me over until long arms. I plan on moving my brake line mount to hopefully gain a few inches just so it works for daily driving, they'll be replaced before I go on the trails. Am I missing anything else? The rest of the steering will be installed later, like a new tie rod, steering box, drop pitman arm, etc.

Cheers
