Yes and no.
All things being equal (and they seldom are), your 7" of lift should measure out at the exact same height as your neighbors7" of lift.

Problem is that manufacturers tend to overstate/understate the amount of lift achieved with their kits or components.

Considering the expense involved in purchasing a high quality shock, the added time taken to measure your rig for the actual extended and collapsed lengths is, simply put, "Time Well Spent".

Would it be wise or foolish to buy new rear shocks and see how it goes? My issue is in the rear, so.. I'm wondering if higher quality shocks will absorb more of the kick the rear has.

As previously stated, yes and no. For example if you have 2 rigs at the same height with one step up for equal amount of up and down travel it would need a shorter shock than that of a rig set up for more down travel than up. Tire size, trimming, and bump stops can affect how much up travel you can get, so you're better off getting those squared away and deal with a rough ride until then. That way you ensure that you really do have the correct length shock for your set up.

And by leaf sliders you mean instead of shackles?

Oh I didn't think of that! Thanks

Yeah, these: http://www.liquidironindustries.com/...roductid=18222

I've had them on for a few months now and love them! Increased my ride quality quite a bit!

Also, how are RE shocks? A friend has them and loves them. But another friend doesn't like RE due to their return policy or something, he had an issue they wouldn't replace. My friend who runs the RE shocks does have a pretty smooth ride for being at 7'' on short arms.

No problem. And a 7" short arm lift?! That just sounds painful lol. Bilstein seems to be the go to brand for most people on here and are what I plan on getting while fine tuning my suspension. Don't have any personal experience with RE shocks but I've heard good things.

I'm thinking of either buying a pair of Bilsteins or RE shocks for the rear to see if it helps with the kick I still get for having a 6.5 pack.

Any thoughts?

So I'm reverting from my current 6.5'' pack with leaf sliders to a 3'' pack with a shackle+relocation kit.

I ordered from IronMan4x4 and the stuff came in today, but I don't know if the fixed shackle will work. When I ordered, I did so with Andy himself via Facebook chat. I didn't think they made fixed shackles, so I didn't mention adjustable. He says these fixed ones won't net me 4'', so I'm going to assume at least 3''. The relocation kit adds 1.5''. And my leaf pack should be about 3'' as well (it's in storage, not sure of size, but I have pics of it installed on my Jeep).

Here's the new stuff:

This may not be the best measurement of it, but here's how big it is. Is there a way to find out if this setup will give my 6-7'' of lift without having to put it on?

And these may not help determine the 3'' pack size, but here they are anyway.

Old lift. Previous owner said I was at 4-4.5'', but my friends and I think more along the lines of 3''. I have 33s on in this pic.

And this may not be any help, but here are the leafs.
