Ya no doubt, you will learn, i have a 6" lift with shackles and 2" spacers up front, was WAY to big even with 35's. Today that's what I did, took 2 leafs out of the rear to lower it, and took the 2" spacers out of the front.

The lower the better.

All the info you could ever need, is on this forum already, just do a search instead of waiting for somebody to tell you how or what.

I did my whole truck today in about 4 hours, Removed 2 leafs on each side to lower it, removed rear shocks, removed front shocks, and took 2" spacers out of the front. And all back together by myself. Most of that time spent was grabbing my tools and playing with my kids.
We were about to add the stands, they were there for the rest of the lift, along with a floorjack for lifting, and the hi lift was used again just for added insurance. And we were always careful with it, we know the dangers.

It would appear that way.. I don't know what I'll do. Maybe look into removing the spacers and a leaf or two. Although the issue with the spacer is that it's helping compensate for the heavy bumper and winch. Is there another spacer I could buy that isn't as tall? Or with these new springs, should I not use the spacers?

If you have a winch and or just a heavy bumper, you might need the spacers.

That's good to hear, I just hate when people don't use jack stands. Stay safe.

No I understand, man. Thanks for caring! And sorry to hear about your friend.

Regarding the spacer.. Do you think due to the weight, that with the spacer, it'll just about even itself out? Don't really want to add an additional 1.5 to my rear, while it'd be nice to be that high, it won't be that practical. I'm not looking for flat/even, but enough to where it doesn't look weird.

How much does your bumper weigh? When you installed it, did it lower the front end?

Well the previous owner said he installed the spacer to compensate for the added weight in the front, so I'm assuming so.

Also, I need to buy an HD tie rod and a drop pitman arm soon. I was debating between the IRO and RC tie rod. Leaning more towards RC, since it seems to be the same DOM thickness, and I can use my current tie rod ends. For drop pitman, I was looking at IRO's or this one off eBay for a bit more.

Still wondering about the tie rod and drop pitman. I'm almost finished. I'm going to be sitting at about 7'' in the front, 6.5 in the rear. Although over time and with the front weight, I'm sure it'll even out. We stopped tonight at the rear leaf spring bolt. The bolt head is facing the gas tank, so it got caught on the hitch bolt. We'ere cutting the leaf spring bolt, getting new ones, and hopefully getting the new leafs and shocks on, and will be good to go!

A friend is saying I shouldn't pickup a new drop pitman yet. See if it drives bad, then upgrade. I do want to pickup a new tie rod anyway, since mine's too thin. I was thinking IRO, there's is 1.25 DOM, but Rusty's is 1.50 DOM and a bit cheaper too.

Dont invest in any tie rod that uses stock tre's...that becomes a weak point

I can't check right now cause I'm on my phone, but does Rustys come with new stock ones? Or is that just RC that uses stock? I'm debating between Rustys 1.50 dom vs IROs 1.25

Rustys uses stock TRE's...they arent any stronger then whats on there right now..other than the rod itself...You could use ZJ steering..pretty affordable. Otherwise go 1ton.

The ZJ tie rod is solid also, and it uses BIGGER TRE's...the Rustys and IRO both use stock xj ends...which suck. Zj steering if your on a budget..if not go with Serious offroad 1 ton, jcr 1 ton, or fab your own 1 ton and use heims.

Is there anything in between the ZJ and 1ton? I like the price of the other tie rods, like RC and IRO, but don't want to go to 1ton right now. I guess if the ZJ one is good, then go with that then. I'd just rather put on an HD tie rod than something that was stock on another vehicle. And I get the RC or IRO trackbar, then buy heavier duty TREs? Since they don't come with them?

You cant buy better TRE's for those tie rods...they only fit stock xj tre's...

Makes sense. Probably could have figured that out myself.. lol

So should I pick this up then?

I don't have the time to go searching JYs, and then risk it not being in good shape or having bad TREs.
