The leaf spring bolts were a different story, especially the front ones. The bolts were siezed and rusted to the metal sleeve that goes through the front leaf spring bushing. I had to use a die grinder to cut the leaf spring apart, and hammer the bolts out of the front leaf spring bushings.Use lots of PB Blaster days before the lift.
How's your ride quality? Are you using 6.5 leafs or 4.5 with shackles? And my lift installation was decent. Previous owner installed rear upper BPEs, which was nice. The rear leaf spring bolts were facing towards the gas tank, and then the hitch must have been installed after the leafs, since the hitch bolts were blocking that bolt from coming out. I love the 6.5 lift, I just need to fix the ride quality haha.

I've always heard of boomerang shackles, but never knew if they were something special. What am I gaining with them? And sounds good with going with HD engineering!

If you get relocators and a 1in shackle on top of 6.5in leafs you will be at like 8-9 inches of lift ! I have the relocators, if you use them with the stock shackles they will bind on the sides of the relocators as they cycle. So you would either have to get a 1in shackle or trim the relocators around the shackle, thus , making them no longer adjustable. I did remove a leaf from a 4.5in RC leafpack once back in the day. It lowered the rear but I guess it made axle wrap easier to happen because first time out at Cliffs I snapped a shock in half as the axle shifted. 6.5in have more leafs so removing one probably shouldnt be a problem.

So I got a raise recently and money has been decent. I'm going to go suck it up with short arms for a little bit, then go with IRO's long arms. I am however still considering the leaf sliders.. It appears it'll fix all my issues. I won't have to worry about a relocation kit adding 1.5'' and then a shackle adding at least another inch, which I agree fully with, I don't want to do that. And my flex would be good too. I'm going to read some other threads and forums and see what I come up with.

Go with the hd ones, I have them on my jeep and they are beef, easy install too. about (30min) A few of my friends have also used the hd relo boxes. Get a boomerang shackle at minimum that set up will add atleast 1.5" but flex will be awesome

I haven't hears anything bad about them, really. And they're $650 shipped. Is there something bad about them?

I've heard a lot of great things about them, on Cf, Pirate, etc. It doesn't appear it'd lift me up much if at all any in the rear. And the quality would be great, and flex.

Oh yeah? Didn't know that.. I'll definitely do some research then before I get long arms.

Thanks!

Most of it is about the design of the passenger arm and a 10mm bolt... There's a few pages about them. I recommend serious offroad ones but they are like 750 I think... And I still have my CAD's lol...

I was seriously going to go with the CADs and consider long arms later. But I got a little bit of extra money and I thought about long arms right away, but my problem is my rear end and I need to address that first, which is why I'll probably go with sliders. I like the idea of CADs. I like the near stock angle..
